Why a body shop ended up doing this
Appliance colors go out of production the same way car colors do, and once that happens, a replacement part often will not match what is already sitting in the kitchen. Since we mix custom color every day for vehicles, matching an old refrigerator or a large household appliance is the same job in a different room.
